I'm 15 weeks pregnant and I have been having pains on the outside of my belly and on my sides.. Is it normal?

I have a doctor's appt. on Tuesday so I'm going to ask him I just wanted to see if anybody has had this too.. I get pains and it just feels like it's RIGHT under the skin or maybe on my skin on my belly, sides, and sometimes in my waste! It doesn't feel really deep or anything just right on my skin... It only stays for maybe 10 seconds not even.. And it kind of worries me..

I'm 15 weeks pregnant and I have been having pains on the outside of my belly and on my sides.. Is it normal?
it isn't labor
Reply:same here my doc says its normal....
Reply:Is it the baby kicking?
Reply:It's just your uterus stretching to make room for the baby.
Reply:Yes! It is normal!
Reply:its very normal.

lol maby go to the book store and get a book on pregnancy and stuff. lol they help alot!
Reply:Slight cramping is normal during pregnancy. If you begin having extreme pains, then you need to seek medical attention.

The way you describe it, it sounds like it might be your body stretching/growing out to make room for the baby.
Reply:I believe it is the cords to the uterus that pull
Reply:no it just sounds like your belly is stretching and there for your going to have these pains every now and then. its normal thro pregnancy and i understand how your feeling because i had them myself and iam still getting them. i went to my doctor and asked the same question, is there something wrong, i was so worried, but i found out i had pulled a muscle and it was all ok. i thought i was going into pre term labour. anyways its ok. good luck
Reply:sounds to me like your belly is starting to grow if this is your first pregnancy then this is a whole new experience for your body and is stretching ways it has never before so at times it can be painful congrats I would definitely still talk to the doc if you are concerned good luck
Reply:if it gets worse, go to the hospital to get it checked out. it could be braxton hicks? you just may be sensitive and be able to feel them this early. also, i have heard of this disease or something you can get when you're pregnant that involves the skin...like being itchy or something? could be wrong, but keep an eye on it and talk to your doctor.
Reply:If you've already begun gaining weight it may be your skin stretching.

With my first baby I was very small (size 2) and began to gain weight by 15 weeks, I also had pain and my doctor told me it was just my skin stretching to accomodate the baby.

You should ask him/her about it anyway just to be safe.
Reply:I'm 19 weeks, and have the same problem. I found that it is the ligaments stretching and I get it all over my belly. Sometimes a dull ache, and sometimes a sharp pain. Do still tell your doctor, and take it easy. Try to avoid moving quickly, and brace yourself when you cough or sneeze to avoid the sharp pains. God Bless.
Reply:This is all totally normal. Your body is stretching %26amp; adjusting to acomadate %26amp; provide room for your baby. Muscles %26amp; ligaments need to stretch %26amp; that is what you are feeling. Sometimes the pains can last all day, sometimes you can just move %26amp; they 'grab' you. Your body has a lot of changes happening from the moment of conception.
Reply:I think your skin is just stretching.. This is a great sign to start using Vitamin E oil and or Shea butter like 3 times a day on your tummy, hips, and butt, or you'll be left with those pesky stretch marks. It hurts when the skin stretches.. Good luck with the baby.
Reply:yess it is your body getting ready and making room for the baby! your body has to have room for the baby to grow. so it will feel sometimes a lil painful but its pressure!
Reply:I believe you might be experiencing the Bracken Hicks contractions. The pain comes and goes ever so frequently. I've told that to my doctor when I experienced the "pains" and I was told not to worry as I only had them like every few days. The doctor will ask how frequent you experience the symptoms and instruct you on what to do. Good luck with everything!
Reply:it is normal your skin is just streching, try applying lotion on your belly and also good luck for the strech mark... hehehehhe
Reply:I am 13 weeks pregnant and I have been experiencing the same thing. I have a doppler machine I rented from bellybeats.com, so every time I worry, I just check for the heartbeat and I find it every time. So im sure you are fine too! Congrats on the baby!

  1. I know that this is really irrelevant to this blog post but I would just like to know your opinion about Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula Massage Lotion for Stretch Marks. I tried using it but my friend told me that they have an ongoing class suit settlement. I checked the site of the suit www.palmerssettlement.com and it looks legit.
