Dry nose from Isotretinoin.?

My dermatologist perscribed Isotretinoin (Claravis, Accutane) for my acne, since it was not being cleared up with any OTC products, Tretinoin (Retin-A), or minocycline (which i ended up rejecting and having serum sickness from). After the minocycline didnt work out she put me on .1% Tretinoin (before it was .04%) and it realllly dried my skin so i decided to use Iso. The thing is, she told me my mucus membranes would dry out, but she didnt tell me and I didnt ask what to do about it. As long as a put lotion on my skin it doesnt get that dry but my nose is pretty bothersome. I have been spraying my nose constantly with saline but that only provides a 10 second max effect. I really dont want to go of the medication because it is reallly helping my face. Anybody know what to do? (user expiriences are appreciated)

Dry nose from Isotretinoin.?
yeah, the dry note thing can be annoying. Mine kind of seemed to get better as time went on. My doctor did give me some gel for my nose. I'd ask her at your next appointment.
Reply:Yeah, but I gave you the names of the gel. And you don't even need a prescription to get it. No need to ask your doctor!

Therefore, I vote my answer the best answer :) Report It

Reply:Try Vaseline, which you can apply with a Q-tip. I find it works really well - the inside of your nose won't feel dry at all. Report It

Reply:Nasal Dryness:Patients may have a dry nose or nose bleeds due to dryness and subsequent cracking of the inner lining of their nose, frequent use of lubricants is recommended.

Dryness of the inner linings of the nose can be caused by a variety of factors. Allergic conditions, viral infections, chronic irritation, sinus inflammation, dry climates and postnasal discharge as well as oxygen therapy, can change the moisture content of the nasal lining. Accutane® (Isotretinoin) will often cause dry nose, which may in turn produce cracking and consequent nosebleeds. Lubricating their nose can minimize or prevent this side effect.

Nose lubricants that are most often used are in the form of a gel. These will often contain polyethylene glycol and propylene glycol.

Similarities between the

Healing of Jesus and Reiki

by William Lee Rand

John 14-12: "I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me, can do the same miracles I have done, and even greater things than these will you do."

One of the outstanding aspects of Jesus' life was the miracles he worked. According to the Bible, Jesus walked on water, fed five thousand people with five loaves of bread and two fishes, changed water to wine and raised people from the dead. However, the most meaningful of his miracles were the healings he performed. These healings include: paralysis, lameness, fever, catalepsy, hemorrhage, skin disease, mental disorders, spirit possession, deafness and blindness. Many of these healings were accomplished by the laying on of hands. This is indicated frequently in the New Testament, Luke 4:40 states: "When the Sun was setting, the people brought to Jesus all who had various kinds of sickness, and laying his hand on each one, he healed them."

In Matthew 8:14-15, Jesus uses touch to heal Peter's mother-in-law of a fever. In Mark 1:40-42 Jesus uses his hands to heal a man with leprosy. This is also mentioned in Luke 5:12-13. Matthew 20:29-34 describes how Jesus healed two blind men by touching their eyes and in Mark 8:22-25 Jesus uses his hands to heal another blind man. In Mark 7:32 35 he uses touch to heal a man who is deaf and can't speak. In Luke 7:12-15, Jesus raises a dead man by touching his coffin and in Luke 8:49-55 Jesus uses touch to return a dead girl to life.

There are many similarities between the laying on of hands healing Jesus did and the practice of Reiki. One important similarity is the fact that Jesus could pass the power to heal on to others which is similar to the Reiki attunement process. We read in Luke 9:1-2 that Jesus gave his twelve disciples power to drive out all demons and to cure diseases. We do not know by what process Jesus gave healing power to his disciples, but the fact that he was able to pass it on to them indicates an important similarity with Reiki.

Another aspect of Jesus' healing practice that is similar to Reiki relates to faith. While faith was required for many of the healings he performed, it appears that the healings Jesus did with his hands did not require faith. Mark 6:5-6 states: "He could not do any miracles there, except lay his hands on a few sick people and heal them. And he was amazed at their lack of faith." So, in spite of the fact that they did not believe, Jesus was still able to use laying on of hands to heal. This is one of the important aspects of Reiki: It does not require faith on the part of those receiving a treatment in order for the Reiki to work.

The fact that Jesus had secret teachings he gave only to those who he had given healing power is clearly indicated in Matthew 13:10-11 and Mark 4:10-12 %26amp; 34. Secret knowledge is also part of the Reiki teachings in that the symbols as well as the process of doing attunements are traditionally kept secret and only made available to those who take a Reiki class.

It is not known whether Jesus was born with the ability to heal through touch or if this was something he acquired. His activities between age twelve and thirty are not mentioned in the Bible. It has been suggested by several researchers that during this time Jesus traveled to the East and was schooled in many of the mystical teachings of India, Tibet and China. If this is so, it is possible that Jesus was initiated into a healing technique, during this time.

On the other hand, it is possible that Jesus was taught directly by God or the Holy Spirit or simply had these abilities from birth. There is some good information indicating that the healing methods of Jesus were preserved by the Church of the East and passed on by it's missionaries who traveled along the Silk Road and other trade routes to India, Tibet and China. It is possible that this information on healing could have been incorporated into the religious teachings of the East and therefore could have been the original source of the Reiki techniques that were used by Dr. Usui.

The early followers of Jesus' teachings were made up of several groups. One such group was the Gnostics. They practiced laying on of hands and professed to have a secret knowledge that had been passed on to them by Jesus and his disciples. The Gnostics were made up of many smaller groups some of which were known as the Docetists, the Marcionites, and the Carpocratians. They were united by their core beliefs which included: a personal experience of Jesus or the "kingdom of heaven within," their freedom and lack of rules, guidelines or creeds and their reliance on inspiration and inner guidance. Their existence is attested to by the Gnostic gospels which are part of the Nag Hamadi Library which was discovered in Egypt in 1959. The fact that Jesus had additional teachings not recorded in the Bible is attested to in a letter written in the second century AD by the early Church father, Clement of Alexandria. In Clement's letter, he spoke of a secret gospel of Mark which was based on the normal canonical one but with additions for special followers of Jesus, referred to as "those who were being perfected" and "those who are being initiated into the great mysteries."

When Christianity became organized after the second century, its teachings were centered around faith and the official teachings of the church, rather than healing or "good works" and inner guidance as practiced by the Gnostics. At this time, those promoting the organization of the church began subduing and banishing those Gnostics who would not conform to the authority of the newly developing Church. In addition they tried to destroy the Gnostic gospels. With the elimination of the Gnostics and the establishment of the Official Christian Church, the practice of laying on hands by lay Christians was strongly discouraged.

Jesus possessed great confidence in his ability and was able to heal in an instantaneous way with spectacular results. It is clear that he had perfected many skills and used them in conjunction to get the results he created. Clearly the Bible indicates that he did healing by laying on hands and also indicated that we could do the same. The teachings of Jesus, as well as the example he set are a great inspiration for us

A Brief Overview

Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.

The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words - Rei which means "God's Wisdom or the Higher Power" and Ki which is "life force energy". So Reiki is actually "spiritually guided life force energy."

A treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and around you. Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and wellbeing. Many have reported miraculous results.

Reiki is a simple, natural and safe method of spiritual healing and self-improvement that everyone can use. It has been effective in helping virtually every known illness and malady and always creates a beneficial effect. It also works in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery.

An amazingly simple technique to learn, the ability to use Reiki is not taught in the usual sense, but is transferred to the student during a Reiki class. This ability is passed on during an "attunement" given by a Reiki master and allows the student to tap into an unlimited supply of "life force energy" to improve one's health and enhance the quality of life.

Its use is not dependent on one's intellectual capacity or spiritual development and therefore is available to everyone. It has been successfully taught to thousands of people of all ages and backgrounds.

While Reiki is spiritual in nature, it is not a religion. It has no dogma, and there is nothing you must believe in order to learn and use Reiki. In fact, Reiki is not dependent on belief at all and will work whether you believe in it or not. Because Reiki comes from God, many people find that using Reiki puts them more in touch with the experience of their religion rather than having only an intellectual concept of it.

While Reiki is not a religion, it is still important to live and act in a way that promotes harmony with others. Dr. Mikao Usui, the founder of the Reiki system of natural healing, recommended that one practice certain simple ethical ideals to promote peace and harmony, which are nearly universal across all cultures.

During a meditation several years after developing Reiki, Dr. Usui decided to add the Reiki Ideals to the practice of Reiki. The Ideals came in part from the five prinicples of the Meiji emperor of Japan whom Dr. Usui admired. The Ideals were developed to add spiritual balance to Usui Reiki. Their purpose is to help people realize that healing the spirit by consciously deciding to improve oneself is a necessary part of the Reiki healing experience. In order for the Reiki healing energies to have lasting results, the client must accept responsibility for her or his healing and take an active part in it. Therefore, the Usui system of Reiki is more than the use of the Reiki energy. It must also include an active commitment to improve oneself in order for it to be a complete system. The ideals are both guidelines for living a gracious life and virtues worthy of practice for their inherent value.

What could this be?

I have a six month old son. The other day, I noticed he had a sort of rash on his back. You couldn't really see it, but you could feel it. Over the next couple of days, it also appeared on his legs, chest/stomach, and a tiny bit on his face. The last check-up we had at the pediatrician, he had broken out on his face only. She determined that he had severely sensitive skin. It doesn't seem to bug him much, and he has had a few low grade fevers. But he has a cold at the same time, as well as he's getting his second tooth. So I don't know whether the fever is just coming with the cold/teething or if it's associated with the rash. Does anyone have any ideas of what it could be? I plan to take him to the doctor, but I'm kind of flipping out(just a little!) and would like to hear if anyone else has had this happen. I looked up skin rashes on webmd.com and none of them sounded like what he has. Could it possibly be eczema? Any input would help, maybe calm my nerves a little. Thanks in advance

What could this be?
Don't panic. Babies, in general, have sensitive skin. Depending on the climate you live in, it could be the heat, the cold, etc. Take him to the dr. and I am sure they can diagnose whatever it is, or at least make recommendations to you. I'm assuming, and this might be a silly question, that you are using baby detergent? And also trying a double rinse in the wash cycle? You will prbably get some sort of cream from the doctor, but I don't think its anything to be considerably worried about. But, I, along with other mother's would feel the exact same way!
Reply:My son had THE SAME thing! For months he had this rash! I did everything I could. I used baby detergent on ALL of our clothes, NO dryer sheets, but nothing really worked. Eventually he grew out of it. All I could really come up with was the weather changes. Winter time, skin gets dry, Summer time heat rash. . . He sounds just fine to me. Hope this helps.
Reply:look kids bodies are crazy they react to everything hes probably getting hits teeth and his body is responding to a foreign object witch is his teeth.also check for asmath

thats the sign i got when my son had and attach so take him to the doctor and tell them to check his breathing twice
Reply:You might want to stop using the new fabric softener and see if that helps. If not, try using the detergent made for babies. Maybe he's on his back a lot more, maybe it's the fabric. maybe he's alergic to it. It could be so many things from creams and lotions to soap you wash him with or his clothes. Just start eliminating them one by one and see what changes. I don't think it is serious tho, most kids have some sort of rash some time or another.
Reply:My babies had this same thing. Patches of rashes that you couldn't really see. It also used to be just on the face, then patches on the back and they sometimes got bigger. It was eczema. Their doctor prescribed them some elidel and it worked great!
Reply:This happened with my daughter last winter. Does his skin feel dry to you? My daughter had dry skin with tiny bumps that were slightly pink. It changed from different parts of her body. The doctor said he thought it was eczema caused by the air being dry. He said it would clear up as the weather got warmer and he was right. In the meantime, the doctor told me to use cortizone cream on it, and it seemed to ease it up a bit then. Cortizone is a steroid, so I was to use it only once a day. I usually put it on her after her bath. Check with your doctor about using this, because my daughter was just over a year old when this happened. I am not sure if it would be safe to use on a six month old or not. Good luck to you.
Reply:2 of my children got a similar rash for a few months while they teething, I would AVOID any cortisone creams (my opinion) my eldest daughter ended up with eczema about 4 year of age and prolonged use of it has left her skin blotchy (she's 11 now) Good luck!!
Reply:My daughter is now 2 years old and we have been dealing with this for almost the whole time. Whether it has been in winter or summer she still has the rash. The doctor has prescribed her an ointment to put on her called Hydrocort. We have also found that Cetaphyl Lotion (even the generic) works very well. Cetaphyl also has a bath soap that you can use and that also has helped. When you bathe your son make sure the temp of the water is on the cooler side of warm, the hotter the water the more it will dry out your sons skin.

Hope this has helped!!!
Reply:When my children have developed a rash on their skin, I have tried a combination of things, and their rashes always cleared up.

If I thought it was reaction to something that was touching their skin, I would:

Change laundry detergent to one with no dyes and no perfumes.

Stop using fabric softener (which has dyes and perfumes).

No lotions or powders on their skin (again avoiding dyes and/or perfumes).

Only bathe baby with water - soap is not needed. If baby does need to be cleaned with more than just water every so often, ivory soap works well, but again, this would be very seldom.

Rubbing pure olive oil or almond oil on baby after bath can help.

Rubbing rash areas with a little flax oil (which is full of good essential fatty acids) has been helpful for some babies.

Give them some vitamin C to help reduce inflammation (with an infant, I would use the powdered vitamin C in a little apple juice, or, more recently, I will put some Emergen-C in water, and only allow them to drink ¼ of it at a time (4 doses throughout the day) to bowel tolerance. If they got diarrhea from too much vitamin C, I would just back off on the amount of Vitamin C I was giving. 1 Packet of Emergen-C has 1,000 mg. of Vitamin C. You can get this at health food / vitamin stores, Trader Joe’s, Raleys – most grocery stores with a vitamin or natural foods department. When my little ones are on vitamin C, their urine becomes more acid, so I need to change their wet diapers more frequently.

If I thought the rash might be food related, I started with looking at the Blood Type Diet. There is a book called “Eat Right 4 Your Baby”. It has excellent suggestions for which foods to introduce when, according to baby’s blood type. Certain foods can cause allergic reactions in sensitive individuals. You can probably get this book at your local library, or Eat Right 4 Your Type or Living Right 4 Your Type. They are all authored by Dr. Peter D’Adamo. Here’s a link to the book on Amazon.

You may be able to find a natural alternative to cortisone. You don’t want to use cortisone if at all possible. It can build up to toxic levels in the body, over time.

If you are nursing, then you should look at the blood type diet for yourself to see if there is possibly something you are eating that would bother baby. Everything you ingest goes into your breast milk.

My Blood type A baby reacted to the cow milk products I was eating. He developed a stuffy nose when he was just a few weeks old, and the doctor gave him a decongestant – thought he had a cold. However, the stuffy nose continued for many weeks, and then someone gave me a copy of Eat Right 4 Your Type, and I looked at what causes congestion in a Blood Type A person, and it’s cow milk products. I stopped eating dairy products, and baby’s congestion cleared right up. Every so often I would try re-introducing dairy back into my diet, and baby always got a stuffy nose again, so I avoided dairy for 2 ½ years, while I nursed him. It’s just a good example of how what Mama eats goes into the breast milk, and can affect baby.

If baby is on formula, then trying a different formula may help. Also, formula fed babies can be defficient in essential fatty acids, so possibly a little flax seed oil mixed into applesauce would help the rash to clear up.

If baby is nursing, mom should be sure she is getting enough essential fatty acids in her diet. Cod liver oil or some other fish oil is great, and flax oil is good too. I take 1T of flax oil a day, and I'm nursing my toddler.

From experience, when I noticed my babies getting cradle cap, I started taking flax oil, and because that raised the essential fatty acids in my breast milk, baby's cradle cap cleared up.

Just a few suggestions from a mother of 5 :-)

Bad first time navel piercing experience, ready to get another?

I'm getting an inverse navel piercing in a little over a week, and I must admit I'm a little nervous for a good reason. I already have a standard navel piercing (done 6 years ago), and for some reason when I got it done, the piercer took 10 painful seconds to get the needle through me...why might this have been? Most people I know who had this done said it only took a second to actually get pierced, so I was wondering why mine might have taken longer. I'm hoping it's because the piercer at the time (he's gone now) was having an off day, but naturally, now that I'm ready to get another type of navel piercing, I'm a little nervous that it might've taken so long because my skin is just that thick and tough there. Is that possible, that some people just have "hard-to-pierce" areas?

Bad first time navel piercing experience, ready to get another?
i had the same problem. everyone's body is different. everyone's skin is different. the girl piercing me was VERY experienced and knew what she was doing it was just my body giving HER and me grief.

in my case i have a small belly button... so it was hard to clamp and even harder to get the needle through. so it took her four tries before it went through... normally it takes one. she was more surprised than me. i was terrified cuz i am scared of needles and almost got sick and almost passed out, lol.

but i love my piercing. i'm glad i did it.
Reply:No need to be nervous, I had an inverse peircing done bout 3 years ago. It took the guy about 10 minutes to put the ring in , I think it just depends on the person who is doing the peircing.
Reply:Sounds like the piercer was either new or just didnt have a clue. It shouldnt take that long for a needle to go through unless you have alligator skin. Dont let it bother you. Its not like you are going to the same person. I understand why it would scare you. Honestly, I think when you get this done and see what a good piercing is like, you wont freak out anymore. Good luck!

Is FEMALE CIRCUMCISION REQUIRED ?

http://www.jannah.org/genderequity/equit...

One of the common misconceptions is to connect female circumcision with the teachings of Islam. This appendix addresses the following three questions:

1. WAS FEMALE CIRCUMCISION INTRODUCED BY ISLAM?

While the exact origin of female circumcision is not known, "it preceded Christianity and Islam." [1] The most radical form of female circumcision (infibulation) is known as the Pharaonic Procedure. This may signify that it may have been practiced long before the rise of Islam, Christianity and possibly Judaism. It is not clear, however, whether this practice originated in Egypt or in some other African countries then spread to Egypt. [2]

It is common knowledge that in some countries like Egypt, female circumcision has been practiced by both Muslims and Christians. [3] In the meantime, this practice is not known in most Muslim countries including Iraq, Iran, and Saudi Arabia. [4] This leads to the conclusion that female circumcision is connected with cultural practices rather than with Islam itself as a world religion. It was made clear in the introduction of this book that some cultural practices, whether by Muslims alone or Muslims and others (such as the case with female circumcision), are not part of Islam and in some instances may violate its teachings as embodied in its primary sources, Qur'an and Hadeeth. These sources are examined next.

2. IS THERE ANY AUTHENTIC TEXT IN THE PRIMARY SOURCES OF ISLAM WHICH REQUIRES FEMALE CIRCUMCISION FOR RELIGIOUS REASONS?

No mention of female circumcision is to be found in the Qur'an either directly or indirectly. There is no known Hadeeth which requires female circumcision. Some argued, however, that one Hadeeth, while not requiring female circumcision, appears to accept it: "Circumcision is a commedable act for men (Sunnah) and is an honorable thing for women (Makromah)." [5]

There are two observations on this Hadeeth:

a) A distinction is made between male circumcision which is described in a stronger religious term (Sunnah) [6] or commendable while another weaker description is given to female circumcision (Makromah) which implies no religious obligation.

b) This Hadeeth is of weak authenticity (dha'eef) according to Hadeeth scholars. [7]

There is, however, a more authentic Hadeeth in which Prophet Muhammad (P) is reported to have passed by a woman performing circumcision on a young girl. He instructed the woman by saying:

"Cut off only the foreskin (outer fold of skin over the clitoris; the prepuce) but do not cut off deeply (i.e. the clitoris itself), for this is brighter for the face (of the girl) and more favorable with the husband." [8]

While the Prophet (P) did not explicitly ban this practice, his words project a great deal of sensitivity to the instinctive needs of females and their matrimonal happiness and legitimate enjoyment. Reference to the brightness of the face and to better relationship with the husband are clear indications of his senstivity and compassion. They also stand in contrast to the arguments that female circumcision "controls" the woman's sexual appetite and hence contributes to sexual morality and virtue in society. It is true that Islam requires adherents of both genders to be chaste. Yet, there is no text in the Qur'an or Sunnah which requires selective curtailment or control of the sexual desire of one specific gender. Furthermore, chastity and virtue are not contingent on "cutting off" part of any sensitive and crucial human organ. Rather, they are contingent on spiritual and moral values of the person and the supporting virtuous environments.

3. SHOULD FEMALE CIRCUMCISION BE BANNED OR RESTRICTED?

Shari'ah (Islamic law) divides actions into five categories; mandatory, commendable, permissible, detestable and strictly forbidden. Female circumcision falls within the category of the permissible. It was probably on this basis that some scholars opposed a sweeping ban of this practice. Before discussing this view, it is important to distinguish between different types of procedures that were and still are called circumcision.

TYPES OF CIRCUMCISION

a) Removal of the hood (or prepuce) of the clitoris. This procedure is, to some degree, analgous to male circumcision since in both cases, no part of the sexual organ is cut off. In both cases also, it is only the foreskin, or outer fold of the skin, which is cut off. Properly done, it is not likely to cause any "matrimonial" problem. While some may call it "sunnah circumcision," this is their own appellation and not that of the Prophet (P) who used the term Sunnah only in the context of male circumcision.

b) Removal of the entire clitoris (clitorectomy) along with part of the labia minora, which is satured together leaving an opening. This is a form of mutilation.

c) Removal of the entire clitoris, labia minora and medial part of the labia majora, whith both sides of the female organ stitched together leaving a small opeing. This procedure requires tying together the child's legs of nearly three weeks. [9] It is called the Pharaonic procedure but may as well be called "mutilation".

It is obvious that the second and third procedures were never mandated, encouraged or even consented to by the Prophet (P). They even violate a known rule in Shari'ah prohibiting the cutting off of any part of the human body except for unavoidable reasons (e.g. medical treatment, trimming nails or hair, or for an explicitly specified reason such as male circumcision). Such necessity or need does not exist in female circumcision. Nothing justifies genital mutilation. In fact, no mutilation is allowed by Islam even in the battlefield. Not only are these two procedures unjustifiable, they are brutal, inhumane and in violation of Islam.

The remaining question then relates to the first procedure. Some (e.g. the late Rector of Al-Azhar University, Sheikh Gad Al-Haque) argued that since the Prophet (P) did not ban female circumcision, it falls within the category of the permissble. As such, there is no ground for a total ban on it. However, it is within the spirit of Shari'ah to restrict something that is permissible if discovered to be harmful. For example, all fish are permisible to eat. Should a particular type of fish be proven to be poisonous or harmful, it could be banned based on a known Shari'ah rule (Al-dharar Yozaal), or harm must be removed. The real issue then boils down to whether the first procedure is harmful or not. Granted that such a procedure may not be seriously damaging like the other two, it may be argued that it is painful, traumatic and often performed in an unhygienic setting leading to infection and other problems. [10] Even if the procedure is performed by a physician, it is so delicate that not all physicians master it. [11]

It should be noted that some people oppose female circumcision as part of their opposition to any "tradition" as old and invalid. This is as inappropriate as practicing female circumcision because it is a "tradition," regardless of its consistency with Islam or not. The practice should be evaluated objectively, on the basis of

a)whether it is required religiously or not

b) whether there are medical and other relevant issues to be considered in evaluating this practice.

While any form of female circumcision is already legally banned in some countries [12] and may be banned in others in the future, it is not suggested here that this is the only option. In societies and cultures where the practice is well entrenched and socio-cultural pressures for it are great [13], abrupt legal banning may not end the practice. It may cause it to be practiced "underground" and under more problematic circumstances. However the problem is serious enough that some action is needed. A starting point, perhaps, is to begin by educationg the masses in countries where female circumcision is commonly practiced. All possible media should be used in the process. The contents of this appendix may serve as an outline of such an educational program, or it is so hoped. In any case, the conclusion which appears to be certain is that there is no single text of the Qur'an and Hadeeth which requires [14] female circumcision.

Al-shawkani, Nayl Al-awtar, Dar Al-Jeel, Beirut, 1973, vol. 1, p. 139.

A broader definition of Sunnah is "the words, actions and approval (or consent) of Prophet Muhammad (P)." In the context of religious obligations, however, Sunnah refers to acts that are commendable but not obligatory. It is in that context that the Prophet Muhammad (P) used the term Sunnah to refer to male circumcision but not female circumcision.

Including bleeding, scars, painful intercourse, difficulty to achieve sexual fulfillment which may lead to pain, reducing chances of pregnancy, causing infertility in some instances, chronic pelvic infection, urinary tract infection, psychological problems and unhappy husbands. See Stewart, op. cit, pp. 36-37.

The author was informed by some physicians that since the clitoris itself is quite tiny, even tinier in younger girls it is very diffucult to do the first procedure proberly even by a non-specialist physician. The much easier procedure of male circumcision is usually referred to a physician with expeirence in that particular procedure.

Presently female circumcision is illegal in Britain and other European countries through the passage of the Prophibition of Female Circumcision Act of 1985. Due to the publicity given to this topic recently, other countries are expected to follow suit, especially those with large number of immigrants from countries which practice this procedure. Stewart, op. cit, p. 36.

Some such pressure is the non-Islamically based cultural norms that only a circumcised woman is fit for marriage, other superstitious ideas that a child born to an uncircumcised woman is likely to die. See for example Stewart, op. cit, p. 36.

Reference is sometimes made to a saying of the Prophet Muhammad (P) narrated in Ahmad, also in Malik with similar wordings to the effect that if the two areas of circumcision (for a male and female) touch one another, than Ghusl (bathing) is required. This expression simply signified that after the intimate matrimonial relationship, both husband and wife must take a complete bath before they perform their daily prayers. The relevant part of this Hadeeth, however, is its reference to the two circumcised parts. Imam Ahmad uses this Hadeeth as an evidence that women (in Madinah) used to be circumcised. This is no evidence, however, that it was religiously required. It could have been a cultural practice which was not prohibited.

Even the few Ahadeeth which Al-Albani considered to be authentic do not require female circumcision as discussed earlier. In fact, some of them speak against radical forms of circumcision.

See Sabiq, Al-Sayyid, Fiqh Al-Sunnah, Darl Al-Kitab Al-Arabi, Beirut, 1969, vol. 1, pp. 37 and 66. Is FEMALE CIRCUMCISION REQUIRED ?
No, and it is a cultural practice, not a religious one. How many times will you ask the same question?

And you answered your own question:

Reply:It is pervert even to expose vital parts of male and female to circumcise these by force. The circumcision is one of major sexual abuses because it cuts foreskin of penis and clitoris That means the ones who get circumcised are tortured by this abuse. Therefore, this must not be done. Report It

Reply:Again, no, and again, let some "doctor" just try coming near my daughter thinking of that. He may walk over, but he'll be limping back when I chop his thing off and see how he likes it.
Reply:lots of muslim girls are put through this barbaric custom

Reply:what's the question you want answered? it seems like you've researched on the matter...if the idea of female circumcision is to make women chaste, i think it boils down to the idea that men don't want women to sleep around because they will not know anymore if the child the women might bear is their or not. this will crumble the patriarchal states and society.
Reply:In the Christian scriptures, you are not

circumcised of the body, but of the heart;

There is absolutely no gender in it at all;

Where the practice of it is still done on males for health reasons only, to do this

proceduce on a female is, in my humble opinion, forced deformity. I saw a National Geographic special on tv where an African tribesperson was circumcising an 11 yr old girl with a rusty razor blade ONLY. This

was one of the most barbaric things I have

ever seen with regard to common practices.

The chance of infection was noted to be

over 85%, causing among other things, the

inability to ever have a child, and death.
Reply:Female circumcision is barbaric and it should be banned.
Reply:This is very long, sorry I can't answer it if I have to read all of it first.....

Jazak'Allahu khayran for bringing the truth of this matter to light.

It's sad that so many people who want to 'bash' Islam have to attribute cultural practises to the religion.

This IS a cultural practise and tends to occur in cultures where women have been given little or no education and are led to believe that this is really a part of Islam........

What is needed is better education for these women, so they can read for themselves that this is not stated anywhere in Qur'an and that even the emphasis in the ahadith is not as strong as the emphasis given to male circumcision.

Problems with implanon implant?

i have had my second one in now for about 2 years. the first was fine. i had the second one put in at a family planning clinic. i didnt realise it but the guy who took out the old one and reinserted the new one had not done it before. he calved loads of flesh out of my arm. obviously i could feel the first one just under the skin but this one has grown out so much i can see it! im having some bad side effects from this one such as periods every other week that last for 3 weeks and now i have no sex drive what so ever. anyone had similar problems? any genuine suggestion will be much appreciated. thanks.

Problems with implanon implant?
I had the implant for 3 years and out of that three years i had approx 5months without a period. It was constant!

I had NO sex drive - which still hasn't returned and used to be healthy

I also got really depressed

I could also see mine through the skin %26amp; had to get stitches when it was removed.

I would tell everyone to stay away from it! I don't know if it was done wrong or what but that was no way to live.

I say get it out straight away and get the jag!
Reply:i had the implant in for about a year and i bleed constantly like all day everyday for a year... was a night mare so i had it removed..
Reply:Hi I havent had the implant and I dont think I ever would as I ahve had the same side effects wtih 2 different types of pills and as far as im concerned I will with any other, as there all basically the same and can all cause certain side effects. I have heard that the injection the pop and the implant all carry the same side effects heavy bleeding or no bleeding at all, low sex drive, mood swings. etc

I have bad migraines so I have never really be offerd to try these put I dont think I would as I was on a pill called femodette which is the lowet from of oestrogen and progestron and all I did was get depressed no sex drive and put on loads of weight. although I didnt get any acne etc.

So I went back and they put me on cerazette witch contaions no oestrogen, but on of the side effects is to put on weight which is what I did, I had no period which was a bounus but was consatanly sore down below, and mood swings constanly, put on weight and had the worse acne in my life and hair loss.

I went to the Family Planning and the nurse said it doesnt cause any of them but I know it does, and she said she is going to see how I go for 2 months off the pill and already I have had a period within 4 days and I feel great and sex drive back to normal.

So I dont think I would benefit off having the implant. So I am now using condoms, I know they are not 100% secure but its better than putting myself and other thorught hell. I was 8 and a half stone when started taking cerazette as I had lost weight from the being off the other pill and now I am 11 stone so its not good for my health and I was depressed on this pill as it was so it doesnt help looking like a beach whale either as I am only 5ft1.

I suggest to stop taking it and go onto the pill if you can and if you have other side effect with the pill come off it all together. As it took me 2 years on cerazette to get all the side effects that were assoiacted with it.

Acne during pregnancy?

It is my second trimester. The doctor said it will get only worse until it gets better. I never had acne before, just a couple of pimples from time to time. And my happy pregnancy is about to turn into a bad depression because of that. I am using the prescribed gel called Clindamycin phosphate. Plus a toner. Also drink lots of water, eat fresh fruit, vegetables. And guess what! Acne just get worse and worse! My husband does not take me out any more, he is ashamed of my looks. and I do not blame him! He married a cute girl with healthy skin, now he got a wife with the red face. It is not that I'm not wearing any makeup to hide the spots. It still be visible, no matter what you do! So medicine does not help, acne are getting only worse, my personal life is about to be ruined. And it is only the second trimester! Should I suffer till the day of the delivery or even until after I finish breastfeeding? When will the breakouts be over? And how to cope with the depression?

Acne during pregnancy?
This is not a medical fact or advice, just an observation, I've noticed that usually when women are having girls they tend to have a lot of acne. My bestfriend had a lot of acne and had a beautiful girl, a year later she got pregnant with a boy and had beautiful skin. I got pregnant and had beautiful skin and had a boy. My sister in law, who's always had great skin got acne during pregnancy and had a girl. This is just my observation. Maybe your having a girl. Your face should clear up after you give birth.
Reply:hormones
Reply:happens all the time stop stressing so much all that cortisol is bad for the baby
Reply:Damn woman dont stress its just acne long as u stop picking at it it will go away if ure pregnant its just probaly ure hormones everything will be fine
Reply:No one can say - it's your hormones and your body. Ask your doctor if you can use the acne product Proactiv. It's a little on the expensive side, but it works really well.
Reply:I too am getting terrible acne, but body acne not facial. Be careful about the medicine you take many anti-acne creams, lotions, and soaps can get into your bloodstream through your skin and hurt your baby. As far as your husband you are giving him the best gift in the world and he's ashamed of you, god what a jerk I hope he gains 100 lbs in 6 months and gets a skin rash he cant get rid of.... you don't be depressed you be a great mother- depression affects the baby too
Reply:awww! you poor thing! i am a mother of 3 %26amp; i experienced that too, all you can do is let time pass, you cannot control your hormones %26amp; that is the reason you have acne. I used proactive, because it was gentle %26amp; effective, but you have to use it religiously! just as directed, i dont know why some people say it doesnt work, that product has brought my skin from hell to heaven more times than i would like to recall on.

I wouldnt suggest using the harsh perscriptions your Dr. gives you, for me anyway- just seems to aggrivate things further.

Dont overwash the effected areas, do not wear make up, DO NOT touch that area other than to clean it, %26amp; absolutely no picking at them. Check your moisturizer, make sure that it is non-cosmegenic, that is the most important.

if you dont want to use proactive, try plain old unscented DOVE bar, i use that %26amp; i am the only one in my family without severe acne.

Good luck, i hope things get better for you FAST!

oh %26amp; for me my breakouts got better by the 3rd trimester, but the acne alone made me depressed. if your serious try what i said, but whatever you choose just make sure not to irritate your poor skin more with crazy solutions.
Reply:just are the baby hormones thats all I'm preg. and my skin like is like that but my husband not ashame to take me any where.

Question about bathing products for a newborn baby?

I see around people talking about lavender lotion and lavender bathing products to calm your baby. I would be happy if someone can tell me which company produces lavender lotion and bathing products and if it is good for the newborn skin. I live in a place where there isnt any shopping malls or a baby shop. I only have some supermarkets here with limited items and i havent come across lavender products. I am 27 weeks + 1 day preggy (second baby) and i am buying things for the baby when ever i go to the city. So the next time when i drive down for a shopping, i would like to get some good bathing products that would suit the newborn skin and would calm them and put them to sleep. I live in the middle east. So i dont know if id get the products that are available in US or UK or Canada. Yet i have a mother care shop and i can try if they have the products there.

Thanks in advance!!! :-)

Question about bathing products for a newborn baby?
www.johnsonsbaby.com

they might be able to tell you where to get it.

I love it but I think it's for 3 months+ because newborns sinuses are more sensitive. The scent is stonger but that's the natural "sleep-inducer" working. The scent is not strong on the baby after he is out of the bath %26amp; dry-it just leaves nice baby smell. The vapor bath they have is great for babies who have colds also.
Reply:Johnson %26amp; Johnson's make the lavendar products.
Reply:Johnson %26amp; Johnson make them. The only thing is the fragrance is really strong, and my baby seemed to have upper respiratory problems when I used them. I would stay away from any strong fragrances with a newborn. My baby was older, and this still was a problem for him
Reply:johnson baby care.
Reply:Use johnson Baby soap ,creem etc.
Reply:If these products aren't in your area, try going online and ordering them.
Reply:You can find the lavendar bathing products in a lot of different brands including Johnson %26amp; Johnson, Gerber, and Huggies. They do help calm baby at night and is perfectly safe for their sensitive skin.

Good luck!
Reply:The best bathing products for new born babies is Johnson %26amp; Johnsons. Dont take chances.
Reply:We use Johnson and Johnson's Lavander Baby Wash on our children, and it says on the bottle that its good for helping them go to sleep. Also, Gerber makes some lavander baby wash. And aside from it helping them sleep, it smell really good. You could try to order these products online from one of the many American stores, i.e. Target, Kmart, Wal-Mart goodluck.
Reply:Can you order from Amazon.com? That's an option if you can because they sell that in their grocery section.
Reply:Johnson and johnson. But I would wait till baby is between 3-6 months. Then skin isn't as sensitive. Plus it has a really stong smell so maybe regular baby lotion on body and little on the feet. Also huggies is starting to make it too. You may look into just soothing candles or warming oil that isn't as strong that way if you notice baby having a problem then you can take it out with out disturbing them. And the smell will dissipate faster. But any lotion and baby massage works too.
Reply:Johnson %26amp; Johnson makes lavendar products, but you shouldn't use them until your baby is 3 months old. There are lots of sites that you can order products online and they should be able to ship them to you.
Reply:Johnson and Johnson products are good for baby and this brand is what they use in the hospitals in australia.

Try ordering on-line if you can't get to the city often.

I personally don't think that these lavendar products really aide the baby in settling them down because its not concentrated enough so I would recommend getting some lavendar oil and sprinkling 2-3 drops on their bedding for fragrance to help calm bubs.

Also a baby really doesn't need a lot of smelly bath or lotion stuff as some babies can have a reaction to it. Usually just warm water is enough to clean a baby since they aren't exactly rolling around in the mud and you wipe them with baby wipes at every nappy change so they aren't covered in pee or poo either. I really like "Am-o-lin" products as they are good for sensitive skin and have a lovely smell. Johnson %26amp; Johnson are great too though.

Have fun shopping and check out what you can buy on-line.

Best of luck

What is your view on abortion and why? this is mine?

I believe abortion is wrong because I feel it’s murder. Pro-life has three key steps and those are what I’m going to be talking about. The first step involves showing that the unborn is alive. The second step is to show that the unborn is a separate individual from the mother. And the third step is to show that the individual is human.

Well the first step is very easy to prove. People who are Pro-choice usually say something like, “No one knows when life begins.” Okay, Gregory Koukl puts it this way, “The mother and father are alive, so are the individual sperm and egg. The zygote formed from their union is alive, as is the developing fetus during it entire term. Finally the child delivered is alive.” So tell me, when does it die and come back to life?

The second step, show that the unborn is a separate individual from the mother, is a scientific fact. These examples make it very clear;

1. Many woman carry babies with a different blood type then their own.

2. A woman may be carrying a male child.

3. The fetus has a DNA fingerprint distinct from the mother.

4. If the embryo of black parents is transplanted into a white mother, she will still have a black baby.

5. Early in development the fetus has its own hands, feet, heart, skin, and eyes.

People say all the time that a woman should be able to choose what happens to her body. Shouldn’t the baby inside that body have a choice and a chance to live? If you don’t agree with that do you agree that a man should be able to rape a woman if he feels like it? It’s his body, he should be able to do what ever he wants with his body. It doesn’t matter who else it hurts just as long as he has free choice to do what he wants with his body, right?

To show that the baby is human is simple, dogs don’t have cats and birds don’t have rabbits. Not a single species can beget a different kind of species, not even bacteria. So if you want to know what kind of being an offspring is, you can ask a simple question: what type of parents did it have? A baby can have a disability, but that doesn’t make it non human.

I believe abortion is wrong because it’s killing an innocent child who deserves a chance to live in this world. In the Bible God says if someone accidentally kills a child in the mothers womb that man should be put to death, what do you think he thinks of us doing it on purpose? I hope my examples are clear, if they aren’t I hope you still got the idea. If you believe in free will doesn’t the baby deserve some?

What is your view on abortion and why? this is mine?
Thank you for making it so easy to refute your points.

Yes, sperm, egg and zygote are living cells, but does that make them living entities? Of course not. None can exist long outside of the body. By using this standard, your hair and fingernails are also separate living entities, rather than simply being living cells that are part of you, and which would cease to live if removed from you..

Regardless of the differences between mother and potential child, the important fact which you have left off is that the fetus, at the developmental stage when 90% of abortions are performed, is totally incapable of surving outside of a womb. Thus, no matter the differences, it is inherently a part of the mother carrying it. At that point, it is simply a mass of cells the mother's body is allowing to survive. Until it is viable, it is an insult to humanity to say that it s equal to a human being.

Nw that I've shown you that you're wrong, I certainly assume that you'll be changing your mind, right?
Reply:may I share with you from the Catechism of the Catholic Church:

"Abortion"

2270 - Human life must be respected and protected absolutely from the moment of conception. From the first moment of his existence, a human being must be recognized as having the rights of a person—among which is the inviolable right of every innocent being to life.

"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you."

"My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately wrought in the depths of the earth."

2271 - Since the first century the Church has affirmed the moral evil of every procured abortion. This teaching has not changed and remains unchangeable. Direct abortion, that is to say, abortion willed either as an end or a means, is gravely contrary to the moral law: You shall not kill the embryo by abortion and shall not cause the newborn to perish.

God, the Lord of life, has entrusted to men the noble mission of safeguarding life, and men must carry it out in a manner worthy of themselves. Life must be protected with the utmost care from the moment of conception: abortion and infanticide are abominable crimes.

2272 - Formal cooperation in an abortion constitutes a grave offense. The Church attaches the canonical penalty of excommunication to this crime against human life. "A person who procures a completed abortion incurs excommunication latae sententiae," "by the very commission of the offense," and subject to the conditions provided by Canon Law. The Church does not thereby intend to restrict the scope of mercy. Rather, she makes clear the gravity of the crime committed, the irreparable harm done to the innocent who is put to death, as well as to the parents and the whole of society.

Reply:I believe everyone should have abortions.

The human population is getting out of control. We take steps to control the populations of other animals but we make no attempt to control our own populations.
Reply:abortion not good
Reply:I believe that pre-viability abortion is fine, and post-viability should be reserved for situations where the mother's life would be in danger were an abortion not to be performed.

I am able to believe this as I have no predispositions based upon mythology.
Reply:Abortion is completely wrong. Its killing the most beautiful creation us humans can give. I can understand why women feel the need to do it if they have been raped or arent ready but theres no excuse to kill it. Though you may not want it, another family who will be willing to give it love and a home do want it. And its called putting the child up for adoption.

In these times, population is getting out of control because the lack of responsibility on our part. Use a condom if you dont want or are planning on one. Condom, one of the greatest inventions. In 5 years the whole problem will be solved.
Reply:Abortion, as you say, is murder. Premeditated murder is murder in the first degree. So, if abortion is considered murder, then the woman should get life in prison OR the electric chair. Which one do you think she should get?
Reply:Sounds like you are here to preach and that you don't really want answers to your question, so I won't bother answering.
Reply:I completely agree!

however, I have met a couple of women who were raped and became pregnant. They had abortions, and I certainly don't judge them for that. I would allow it as well in cases of incest or if the mother's life was clearly at risk. But the vast majority of abortions have nothing to do with those circumstances.
Reply:God created a comfort zone for all mankind and called it ..Evil
Reply:What pro life people need to understand is that with pro choice people abortion isn't about the baby. It's about the mother.

I do not have to be an incubator if I do not want to. I do not have the right to force another woman to be an incubator. I do not have the right to take away safe medically supervised abortions and force desperate woman to seek unsafe services.

Oh yeah, I've educated my daughter about sex and taken care of birth control. It won't be my daughter in the abortion clinic or on a dirty table somewhere, it will be a "GOOD" girl whose parents and community and church will scorn her for her unplanned pregnancy and leave her no other choice.
Reply:abortion is murder.
Reply:I respect your opinion. As a Christian, I believe we have freewill to make our own choices, including abortion. We will all have our day, and only one judge. Anything can be abused, including abortions; there are ppl that use this as a birth control method, very sad, and this I don't agree with. There are circumstances where abortion is an option, and should not be denied. I agree that a baby is a separate entity from mommy, and have all the characteristics you listed #1-5. Actually, in the bible, it says, in the OT, that if a man should accidentally kill a baby while in the womb, he must pay a fine to the father; if he should kill the pregnant mom, then he must be put to death. Again, we, Christians, do not abide by the OT either way, nor should we judge. That includes marching outside abortion clinics, waving signs saying "Don't be a Murderer," we all have skeletons, and shouldn't be so quick to hand out scarlett letters to folks. My thoughts as a believer.
Reply:The Scriptures do not leave a person in any doubt as to God’s viewpoint regarding the life of an unborn child.

Properly viewed, the fruitage of the womb is a blessing from Jehovah God. (Psalm 127:3) The Bible shows that the Creator himself is lovingly aware of the developing human embryo or fetus. (Psalm 139:13-16) And for the protection of both the mother and her unborn child, he stated in his law to ancient Israel: “In case men should struggle with each other and they really hurt a pregnant woman and her children do come out but no fatal accident occurs, he is to have damages imposed upon him without fail according to what the owner of the woman may lay upon him; and he must give it through the justices. But if a fatal accident should occur, then you must give soul for soul.”—Exodus 21:22, 23.

Some Bible translations express the matter somewhat differently. But the original Hebrew text makes clear that in Israel a fine was to be imposed if a child was born prematurely due to injury done to the mother. And if the accident was fatal to either the mother or the child in her womb, then the penalty was “soul for soul.”

Has God’s viewpoint toward human life changed? After the Mosaic Law covenant was terminated, Jehovah caused this forceful reminder to be written to the Christian congregation: “You know that no manslayer has everlasting life remaining in him.”—1 John 3:15.

If anyone who has been responsible for the death of a fellow human wants God’s approval, it is vitally important for him to cease doing anything that would identify him as a manslayer. He must earnestly seek God’s forgiveness and then put on the “new personality,” one that upholds God’s righteousness and reflects loyalty to his commands concerning the sanctity of life. A genuine change is required.—Ephesians 4:24.

Although I feel that abortion is murder, there are no protests outside any prisons for those who have murdered there either.

Abortion is a sin, not a crime, and we cannot be judges of people, they will have to deal with the consequences of their actions in life.

I believe abortion should be allowed when there are circumstances surrounding the reason for it. i.e. Rape, severe birth defects.
Reply:the question is do people care ENOUGH about the issue to put their VOTE where their MOUTH is. Thats the question.

I have had them. All out of selfish convenience. As a Christian I've repented and cried many tears of thanks that God allowed me to still have children after that. The lionshare of women do it for convenience not 'life threatening emergencies'. It should be outlawed. If you dont want the baby, go through the 9 mos on a state sponsored health insurance program and give him/her to a family that cant have children. It would eliminate the need for invitro and save barren couples hundreds of thousands of dollars in medical fees trying to get pregnant. It would also make a woman think TWICE about getting pregnant again if its going to slow her ability to "party" afterwards.

and if you waffle about 'quality of life' of the child, check out this young woman...

Reply:If you are pro life then you are responsible for the death of 12 loved and wanted children each time you "save" a fetus. http://www.prolifeismurder.com

Discernment is a valuable tool when dealing with the Bible and your beliefs. God uses abortion every day in the form of miscarriage. That would make him a murderer by your standards. And when God says that he knew you in the womb, it does not stop him from miscarring you. There are 300 descriptions of murder in the Bible and none even resemble abortion. There is not one word in the Bible that says abortion is wrong and many instances where God calls us to follow him and do his will.

Though you thoughts are heartfelt, they are dangerous. You should not continue to follow the pro life agenda, because now you know it causes death.
Reply:first off, we choicers KNOW when life starts. it started millions of years ago. however, personhood DOES NOT begin until viability/birth. therefore, until then the fetus is not a person, only a potential person. also, no one denies that the fetus is seperate from the woman. HOWEVER, the fetus is within the woman and is leeching off her body. it's HER body, not the fetus', therefore it's HER choice on whether or not the fetus remains in her body. third, that passage from the bible refers to an unauthorized abortion. NOWHERE in the bible does it say 'thou shall not abort thy fetus'. in fact, your god's the biggest abortionist of all. he aborts pregnancies all the time. they're called miscarriages.
Reply:i think its wrong. god doesnt make mistakes.if you get pregnant your intended to have a baby if not for you then for an infertile couple.it should be illegalized.the minute the sperm hits egg, there is a life.

Bulldog puppy hair?

HIS HAIR IS SUUPPPPER THIN!I just got a english bulldog puppy. He is 9 weeks old and he has very thin hair and can barely see his skin. Is this normal? Will he grow into it? SHOULD I BE WORRIED?

He was the runt of the litter. You can only see his skin faintly and ive seen 2 puppys that have had the same problem and they turned out fine. I took him to the vet and they said he was fine i just would like a second opinion.

Bulldog puppy hair?
yes he will be fine! He's only 9 weeks old! remember that! lol
Reply:he'll be fine! dont worry :]

good luck!

and congrats!
Reply:Puppy fur is much softer and finer then dog hair. As he matures you will notice a more coarser hair grow down the middle of his back.

Being the runt usually does not mean anything bad. I had a runt once, he turned out to be a 125lb moose!! 2 times the size of his mama. I saw 3 other pups from that litter when they were older and he was much bigger then the rest.

Just be sure to feed him great food and give him LOTS of loving!!

I have a high amount of body fat, how do you lose body fat, with out losing weight?

I am 5'7 and weigh 130, I really don't want to lose too much weight because anything under 125 just doesn't look right on me. I have a lot of stomach fat and I have cellite on my legs. I don't want to get to skinny or lose the little butt I do have, but I would like to get tone up. I had two kids and after I had the second one I got in to really great shape but i still had that fleshy skin thing going on with my stomach. I am now out of shape once again and would like to get toned up. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestion. Thanks so much! If any other woman has this problem please write me and let me know, let me know what you did about it and what worked for you.

I have a high amount of body fat, how do you lose body fat, with out losing weight?
When you eat unhealthy for such a long time, your blood changes in such a way that it cannot carry toxins and heavy metals out of the body. Also unhealthy eating results in unhealthy excretory organs. If the body cannot get rid of waste then it stores them in fat bone and muscle which can fool people into thinking that they are over fat, but rather over toxic. The body stores them to keep them from damaging organs and out of circulation. Also heavy metals and toxins all carry a positive charge so the body considers them to be electrolytic, so the body will store more water which just makes you look even fatter.

Trick is in most cases get rid of the toxins and heavy metals and you will find the weight will come of extremely quickly even without excercising. The body will do anything to get healthy given half a chance and it sees toxins as extremely unhealthy.

What happens is eat healthy (lots of raw vegetables) and it changes the blood and organs in a way that that it can start to get rid of toxins in the blood at the particular time. In the body things move from high concentration to low concentration. Get rid of toxins in the blood and guess what you have low concentration in the blood and high concentration in fat, bone and muscle so they end up coming out and as long as you keep eating healthy the exchange will continue to take place.

Good thing for you is the fat stores seem to go first then muscle then bone.

The best thing to do is eat lots of raw vegetables. I cant stand raw vegetables but I love them when they are all blended up with some all natural fruit juice.

Avoid as many toxins as possible.

You want to get your blood more alkaline, if you are fat then you can bet your acidic.

Visit this site: Its easily the best http: //home .bluegrass .net/~jclark/alkaline_foods. htm

Depening on how fat you are its really not good to do intense hard workouts, it can indirectly make you even fatter. As you produce lactic acid the body uses alkaline stores to carry it out of the body, so if your short on stores in the first place its only making matters worse. For the time being dont do anything that makes you out of breath. The body wants to be healthy and if your struggling to breath then thats your bodys way of telling you that it is struggling to remove the lactic acid you have produced, its telling you to slow down. (breathing is one of the body's ways to maintain ph balance in the blood) you will learn all this when you visit the website.

Also the best thing about eating not just healthy foods but alkaline forming foods is the body night and day even when you sleep, especially when you sleep will be detoxifying itself, hence losing weight.

Aslo it increases your energy levels, heavy metals displace magnesium, muscles need magnesium to contract, so eliminate heavy metals and then magnesium can get to it's binding site resulting in more potentially expendable energy.

Bottom line get healthy by eating healthy and the body will by itself asap get back to a healthy weight range which is deemed attractive to the human mind.

Reply:Turn it too muscle, take up boxing, I used to boxing and the scales don't go down much, because of all the muscle. But you lose inches, body fat that is.
Reply:Exercise will turn that fat into muscle tissue which looks much better. I am 5'2 and weigh 140lbs. No one believes it though because I am so small. Ti-boe is a great workout. I find it challenging and fun and it's about the only workout I can stick to doing on my own. You can find a video in any Walmart. Plus, you can do situps, crunches, and leg lifts in addition. Good luck!
Reply:Fat CANNOT turn into muscle.Muscle burns fat, buildmuscle to lose fat.Do cardio to lose fat.Reduce calorie intake to reduce fat.
Reply:Exercising with weights would probably be the most effective thing for you. Increasing your muscle mass will cause them to push against the fat you see as celulite and smooth it out. I'm not talking Schwartzeneggar bulk muscles. Just light weight toning. It will also bump up your metabolism and let you burn stored fat away. Aerobic exercise alone often doesn't address celulite in women. At 5'7" 130, I would avoid dieting. You're certainly not overweight.
Reply:hi, you need to do some abdoman exercises.Drink a cup of hot water one hour after meal.Hot water dissolves fat.
Reply:Well, it is a wrong concept that fat can convert in to muscle. Never, scientifically the fat can not turn into muscle.

You can lose the body fat by increasing youf BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate). For that the best method is resistance training. You have to do weight traning with a proper combination of cardios and calisthenics. By virtue of this you can loose ur fat and gain lean mass, so that u can have an equillibrium of your weight.

By doing resistance training, you will be so defined in apperance that will increase your self esteem.

Do some body building on let's say Monday then do cardio and abdominal exercise on Tuesday and so on! You'll lose fat and gain muscle simultaneously... Good luck

This article may help you with your question. You'll also find all types of information in this web site!
Reply:It sounds like you need to focus on cardio and weight lifting...you can reduce your body fat through cardio and through weight lifting but you will also be maintaining muscle mass and also increasing it.

Always check with your doctor before beginning any exercise and nutrition plan.

You need a good combination of aerobic activity and resistance training combined with a healthy diet. It is not recommended to lose more than 1-3 lbs a week. If you want to lose weight the correct and safe way that will stay off for the long-term, you need a good comprehensive exercise and nutrition plan.

A good program looks like this:

Always warm up and cool down

Muscular Strength %26amp; Endurance-you need a good resistance training program that includes exercises for all muscle groups

shoulders (anterior, posterior, and lateral), upper arms (biceps and triceps), forearms, chest, abs (upper, lower, and obliques), upper, mid, and lower back, butt, legs(quads, hamstrings, and calves) and outer and inner thighs

Your intensity should be 70-80% 1-RM or 8-12-RM, 8-12 reps, 1 or more sets, 3 times a week for 6 weeks or more when you begin a resistance program. You should begin with 1 exercise for each major muscle group and make sure the days you do resistance training are not consecutive meaning you don't exercise the same muscle group two days in a row. As you continue your program you can add more exercises, add weight, and change up your program to include more days or just work specific muscle groups on specific days. As your muscles grow stronger you will be able to reduce the rest time between each set. You should rest for about 30 seconds between sets.

Muscle is metabolically active and therefore when you gain muscle it burns more calories and helps to raise your metabolism.

If you do not have money for a gym membership or do not have access to one, here is a great website to create a work out plan only using your body weight.

You can also search for all kinds of exercises that use weight.

Here is another great website for finding some good exercises for different parts of the body.

Cardiovascular Endurance-This part is extremely important for fat burning and enhancing your overall cardiovascular performance. You need to include a warm-up and cool-down. In order to have an effective cardio plan you must first make sure you remain in your target heart rate zone for at least 30 minutes a day (you can start out doing this for 3 days a week and build up) and then you can build up to 45-60 minutes a day. This will seriously help to burn fat as well as raise your VO2Max which is basically a number that represents the capacity of your cardiorespiratory system. The higher the number the more efficient your cardio system is. You can learn more about VO2 at the following website.

http://www.preventdisease.com/news/artic...

In order to determine your target heart rate, do the following:

know these numbers:

maximum heart rate= (220-age)

resting heart rate=(get this by counting your pulse for a minute when you first wake up in the morning)

heart rate reserve=(maximum heart rate-resting heart rate)

then calculate training intensity:

TI= Heart rate reserve x percentage(use 70%-85%) + resting heart rate

Now your training intensity number is important because this is the number you want to reach for a particular training intensity. This is the number your heart rate has to get to in order to be in the optimum cardio training zone.

You can perform the TI equation for 70% and then another for 85% to get a good range for your heart rate. This is your own personal target heart rate zone.

You can either count your pulse yourself or use a heart rate monitor while you are exercising. You can buy one at most electronic stores. I recommend the heart rate monitor because you don't have to do anything and it lets you know where you are. Some even beep when you reach your zone or when you go above it. Mine has a strap you put on under your clothes and a watch that shows you your heart rate as well as other things. Now of course, any type of heart rate monitor will not be perfect because there are factors that are not taken into account, but it is one of the most accurate ways to keep track of your heart rate that is easily available to the public.

Here is a website to help you calculate your target heart rate zone

http://www.preventdisease.com/healthtool...

Here is a good website for some information on how to measure your physical activity intensity

http://www.cdc.gov/nccdphp/dnpa/physical...

Now, I needed to tell you all of that so I can let you know what cardio activities will fit this type of requirement.

The following are great activities for a good aerobic plan:

cycling, jogging, running, walking, rowing, stair climbing, elliptical machine, aerobic dance, bench step aerobics, hiking, in-line skating, skiing, rope skipping, swimming, and water aerobics.

Any of these activities are acceptable only if you make sure your heart rate stays within your target heart rate zone. This does not count your warm-up or cool-down either. You need at least 30 minutes within your zone for the best benefits because for most people your body does not begin to burn fat until you have been working aerobically in your heart rate zone for at least 30 minutes. Of course all exercise is good for you, so even if you do not make it to your heart rate zone, it still is good for you and there will be benefits from it. Just work your way up, start slow, and you will be gradually improving your body's cardiovascular performance and burning fat. Once your body gets used to performing aerobically it will begin to burn fat faster than someone who is not on a cardio program.

You can find calculators at the following website to calculate about how many calories are burned by different activities.

Or if you prefer, you can begin a jogging program

Body Composition-this includes your body fat percentage, bone frame, as well as how much muscle you have. Most people focus on only weight, but you should not put as much focus on that as much as what your body fat percentage is (get it tested at an exercise facility with skinfold calipers). You should also get circumference measurements done. This includes your neck, shoulder, chest, waist, abdominal, hip (buttocks), thigh (proximal), thigh (mid), thigh (distal), knee, calf, ankle, arm (bicep), forearm, and wrist. You should be able to do this at a gym. You should get all of this information done before you start your program and then you can see how you improve.

You can calculate an estimate of your body composition and target weight here:

The following website will help you to understand a little more about body composition

Flexibility- Most people do not even think about this, but it is very important because it helps to prevent injury and it helps you to perform every day activities. It also has an effect on all your other programs. You should perform 10-12 flexibility exercises every day. Slowly stretch the muscle to a point of mild discomfort but not necessarily pain. Hold stretch for 10-30 seconds, and do 3-5 reps for each stretch. This should take about 15-30 minutes per session. If you do not have time to do this every day, try to do it 2-3 times a week.

Diet- You have to make sure that you eat right and that means following the food guide pyramid. All those low carb diets or fad diets out there will not help you lose weight safely. You can read more about the risks of low carb diets at the following website

http://www.preventdisease.com/news/artic...

Know that 1 lb. of fat is equal to 3,500 calories. So if you eat 500 calories less per day for a week than you normally would (by either cutting back or changing what you eat or even by burning 500 calories from exercise) that is 3,500 calories and you should lose 1 lb. that week. I know that does not sound like a lot, but it is a proven fact that you should not lose more than 1-3 lbs. per week because it is not safe nor does it stay off. If you work to lose 1-3 lbs a week then it is much more likely to be the safe way and will stay off for long-term if you continue to live a healthy lifestyle.

I do not like the word diet because most people think of a diet as a short-term way of losing weight when the most effective way of losing weight is to completely change your lifestyle.

Here are some ways to change the way you eat:

Always follow the food guide pyramid with focus on fruits and vegetables and lean meat such as chicken or fish.

Make sure you get enough fiber and water in your diet. You should get 20-30 grams of fiber every day along with plenty of water. You can go to the following websites to learn more about fiber and tips on how to get more in your diet.

You should drink a total of 8 eight-ounce glasses of water a day at least. This is different for everyone, but you should be able to figure out about how much water you need a day. You can go to

http://preventdisease.com/news/articles/... to learn more about how much water you should drink.

Get your carbs from complex carbohydrates (pasta, rice, grains, cereals, potatoes, dried beans and peas) that contain whole wheat. When you buy something such as bread make sure the first ingredient is whole wheat and does not contain the word enriched. You can learn more about carbohydrates at the following website.

Learn what serving sizes are and how to properly use them. This is very important because the average American consumes way too much and it is because serving sizes are out of control. You can find out more about this at the following website

Even when you go out to eat or to fast food places you can eat healthy. Try as much as you can to stay away from saturated and trans fat because they are both bad for you and should be consumed as little as possible. Mono and polyunsaturated fats or good for you but fat should only make up 25-35% of total calories. A lot of people also focus on high protein but in reality you only need .8 grams of protein for every kilogram of your body weight.

People who are on a resistance training program may consume up to 1.2 grams of protein for every kilogram of body weight.

So for me I weigh 135 lbs. and I figure my body weight in kg as follows:

135 divided by 2.2= 61.4 kg

61.4 kg x .8= 50 grams of protein a day.

61.4 kg x 1.2=74 grams of protein a day.

My range is 50-74 depending on my exercise level.

You can check out this online calculator to find out about how much protein you need.

I would recommend you find a certified personal trainer and a registered dietician in your area to help you lose weight.

It is very important to know that not all personal trainers are educated the same and therefore you must make sure if you use one they are properly certified. The following website gives you more information on this subject.

Try this simple plan it really worked for me so here goes,

If you are serious about losing weight, the calories in the food you eat should be less than the energy you use. You will have to increase your metabolic rate now, and plan your diet carefully.

Formulate your own weight loss plan and you will lose weight faster. More details available at http://tinyurl.com/m7ckx
