Reply:Maybe you have some powerful acne...you'll gow out of it.
Reply:How about trying antibiotic therapy from your regular doc to get the staph bacteria under control?
Reply:You probably have extremly oily skin.

The best along with medication is sunlight. It'll dry the blemishes to the piont where they'll fall out. You should wash your face with a mild soap 2-3 times daily. Keep hair and cloths from rubbing the skin alot.

AVON acne creams work well, but I don't know if the'll be avible to you.
Reply:Try to find a spa that uses Environ. It is based on vitamin A which, among other benefits, normalizes sebum production. It also will strengthen the immune system of your skin, helping it heal better and be less sensitive.

Proactive can be drying to your skin which can actually increase sebum production as a reaction.

BTW, sunlight is the worst thing for skin.

To comment on accutane - it is an effective acne solution. ( It is also vitamin A based). What you need to know about it is that it thins the skin a lot, all over, not just on the face. This means that you will need to be extra protective of your skin in the sun.

Also, accutane causes birth defects so women taking it need to be aware of that risk as well.
Reply:You might want to try nothing for a while. Let your natural oils even out. Your using medication on your face all the time and drying it out then moisturizing it. Its probably an in-balance in your skin. Just wash it normally in the shower for a couple days and let your face breath. Then use the proactive, it really works, but it can get worse before it gets better.

Good luck
Reply:I know it's winter right now, so you'd have to wait for the spring, but try getting a suntan. Every time I get a suntan, my skin becomes PERFECT. Also, check with the dermagologist and ask him about Retin-A cream. I use it when I get a breakout and it clears it up in a couple of days (but the side effect is that it peels all the skin off your face and leave it a little red for a day)...I also use another one from the dermatologist called Duoc. I've never had any luck with Neutrogena and when I used Proactiv, as soon as I stopped I broke out worse than I had to begin with.
Reply:Have you tried Accutane through the dermatologist? I am almost 19 and have had acne since i was 12. Nothing ever worked for me except this year i went on an oral antibiotic that I take 3 times a day, Retin A topical that I use at night, and a topical antibiotic that I use in the morning. This regimen is the only one that has finally worked for me. But, Accutane works for a lot of people. Try that. But, everyone is different so many things that work for other people really well may not work at all for you.
Reply:This may not be too much help but I've had acne since I was 13 and am turning 19 this week. I just now started the proactive line about 3 weeks ago and am loving the results. I know you said you didn't see great results with it but make sure that you're only using that product and diligently doing it twice a day. Also when you wash your face make sure your rubbing the cleanser in for about 2 minutes. It really does make a difference. Acne can be really a huge pain.......trust me I've been there......but like I said this worked for me and I've tried everything imagineable. The good news is it does get better as you get older I promise. But yea just make sure your following those steps to a tee and with any skin care product make sure you're very diligent to use it. Also make sure your pillowcase stays clean by washing it often. Bacteria can gather on that while you're sleeping and cause your acne to get worse. Hope this helps and good luck
Reply:My dermatologist tried everything under the sun when I was in high school - nothing worked. Finally, she agreed to let me go on Accutane. It made it worse before it made it better and it dried my skin to no end; however, after a few months, I had absolutely ZERO acne and it was the first time in years that I wasn't a complete grease-ball two hours after I got ready in the morning. It was a total miracle!! It's expensive, super potent, and dermatologists are hesitant to prescribe it (maybe b/c of insurance companies complaining?), but definitely ask your dermatologist if you are a good candidate. Waaaay better than Retin-A (one of the many topical and non-topical medications I tried before Accutane). Good luck!! :)
Reply:most products that you will take will help for a quick fix, but they are not dealing with the real problem. most people have no idea why they break out, well here is the reason!

Skin eruptions or blemishes can also be constipation symptoms. Constipation can cause acne and it can worsen existing acne conditions. Many people fail to understand the skin is a major organ responsible for eliminating waste. When the liver and kidneys become overwhelmed by substances that need to be evacuated from the body—the skin will try to come to their aid. Individuals who are constipated are backed up with fecal matter and it’s impossible for the skin to remove fecal matter. However, the epidermis can show signs of its attempting to rid the body of toxins by becoming inflamed or breaking out.

good luck to you, I wish you the very best!
Reply:You need to use Vitamin A compounds. Either Retin A or Accutane.
